Lars brings on Tom Fields who’s with the Oregon Department of Forestry, to discuss the fire near Canyonville, Oregon and what firefighters have done up to this point. When the fire was first spotted, it was Wednesday night and was only 7-10 acres in an area that would take firefighters awhile to get to. Being as late as it was, aircrafts were not available for use and by Thursday the fire had grown to 40 acres. Since then the fire now covers 11,700 acres with 1000 firefighters currently on duty.
