Washington state Democrats have proposed a law that would ban the sale and possession of various types of semi-automatic firearms. The bill, named House Bill 1240, was initiated by the governor and state attorney general and aims to restrict the production, importation, distribution, and selling of “assault weapons.” Exceptions to this ban will only be made for military and law enforcement sales, antique firearms, and inoperable or inherited “assault weapons.” Should Washington ban semi-automatic rifles?
