Should Elephants Have the Same Rights as People?

The Nonhuman Rights Project is at it again, trying to give elephants the same rights as humans. They’ve already failed in their attempts to secure writs of habeas corpus for chimpanzees and an elephant named “Happy” in New York. Now, they’re pushing their agenda in Colorado, and honestly, it’s getting ridiculous.

This latest lawsuit claims to represent five elephants at the Colorado Springs Zoo, arguing they’re suffering in captivity and deserve to be freed. But let’s get real here. How would these activists even know what the elephants want? They’ve lived in a well-respected zoo for years, getting top-notch care from dedicated professionals. The Nonhuman Rights Project claims they want to “liberate” these elephants, but if they win, it won’t mean freedom; it just means the elephants would be shuffled from one organization to another. Who’s really benefiting here?

Tune in to hear my conversation with Wesley J. Smith, where we break down this radical agenda and why it’s a threat to common sense.
