Oregon Stockpiles Abortion Pills: Is This What Taxpayers Are Paying For?
Given that we live in a very liberal region, I’m sure that Tina Kotek’s stockpile of tens of thousands of baby-kill pills provides reassurance to some people. It’s called “mifepristone”… abortion in a pill. The Governor of Oregon has ordered more than 20,000 of the pills, and her agencies are bragging about that fact this week. Lame duck Governor Jay Inslee brags about doing the same in Washington.
What they don’t mention are the hazards. Studies show one woman in five ends up with complications, and one in 25 goes to the emergency room. Don’t believe me? That’s on the FDA package insert. And get this, it’s even more dangerous in Washington and Oregon, where a woman can get mifepristone through telemedicine, without ever seeing a doctor in person.
At least two women have died from mifepristone, not knowing they had an ectopic pregnancy. But Governor Kotek has assembled a huge stockpile of the pills, and it’s not just for people who live in the state. One woman in eight who gets an abortion doesn’t even live in Oregon. Kotek has championed abortion tourism, and taxpayers pay the bill to bring the woman and her unborn baby here—and then send her home alone.
Not exactly something to be proud of.
