NW Energy Policies Will Crush Your Wallet, Will Trump Bring Relief?

Americans voted for the man whose energy policies can be summed up as “Drill, baby, drill,” while the Northwest went in the opposite direction. You’re going to pay for it at the pumps and the grocery store sooner than you think.

Let’s start with Oregon, where new DEQ regulations will jack up gas prices and ban the sale of gas and diesel altogether in just 15 years. California regulations, mimicked by both Oregon and Washington, will ban the sale of most new diesel big rigs and RVs starting in less than 45 days. Companies buying the essentially non-existent electric big rigs will pay triple the price for trucks and suffer from their short range. Everything we wear, eat, or use arrives in trucks, so we will all pay for it at the store.

In Washington state, voters refused to repeal Jay Inslee’s Climate Commitment Act. The carbon tax jumped immediately and dramatically. Expect to see that at the pumps soon.

President Trump’s plan to dramatically expand oil and natural gas drilling should start bringing fuel prices down across America, but here in the Northwest, elected Democrats plan to suck those savings right out of your wallets and into their grubby, greedy hands.

As Barack Obama famously said, “Elections have consequences.”
