Biden’s Reckless Ukraine Moves Push Us Closer to WW3

Lame duck President Joe Biden’s latest actions in Ukraine are pushing America and Russia toward World War 3. You think that’s a radical prediction? Consider this:

Over the weekend, Biden cleared Ukraine to use America’s tactical missiles for strikes into Russia. They did—and hit Russian targets. First time in history! Putin responded by threatening nuclear weapons if attacked by a country backed by a nuclear power. That would be Ukraine and America.

Today, Biden gave the go-ahead to place anti-personnel landmines to blow up troops on the ground. Meanwhile, the U.S. has shut down its Kyiv embassy due to a “potential significant air attack” and is warning Americans in Ukraine to be ready to seek shelter.

All of this happens just two months before a new President takes office. Donald Trump has promised to bring about a quick end to the war. Over the weekend, Ukraine’s President Zelensky told reporters the war would end quickly with Trump in office. Biden’s moves, which threaten to escalate the situation, are “too little, too late.” Compare that to what Donald Trump did before the invasion.

As James Robbins at National Interest points out, during his first term, Trump authorized the sale of Javelin missiles to Ukraine, a move the Obama administration had blocked. Ukraine used these anti-tank weapons to blunt Russia’s 2022 offensive and save its capital, Kyiv, from being overrun. Trump, therefore, can already claim a measure of success in defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.

A new Gallup poll of Ukrainians shows more than half want a quick and negotiated end to the war. So, with an impending peace threatening to highlight Joe’s fecklessness and Donald Trump’s superiority, what’s a failed President to do? Push the big red button and blow things up on your way back to the Delaware beach.
