| I'm proud of my Dad and the buck he shot this past Thanksgiving weekend. I am unaware of what unit he was on but it was a muzzle loader hunt. He is submitting it for the Oregon record books. |

| Thanks again to KUMA in Pendleton and Fisherman's Marine & Outdoors! My trip east was successful. At 10:30 Saturday I got my 2nd season (modern rifle) Elk...the shot was up hill 512 yards with a 135 grain Nosler bullet (made in Bend) sighted in by a Leupold Scope (that's Leo-pold east of the cascades) sitting on top of a Nosler .270 Winchester Short Mag...the most successful Rifle I've had the opportunity to shoot in my life. And I was wearing my Oregon made, Danner hunting boots. My hunting partners were Harry, Red, Kenny & Rex. |

| Here's a picture of my son's elk he shot with muzzle loader in Utah last month. it scores 340, Brad, like others I know have opted to go to other states to hunt because of the poor mismanagement of our game in Oregon. |

| I took my six year old son Wade on his first deer hunt last Tuesday evening 10/11/11 and here is the result.
We had been sitting in our stand about 30 minutes when a group of 5 does appeared and slowly worked
their way out into the field. Wade was bummed that no buck was with them. I told him just wait a smart old buck
will want to make sure nothing is wrong. Sure enough about 20 minutes later 3 of the does started looking
back over to the area they had come from. I started watching the wood line and here he came. He was about
75 yards away when I dropped him in his tracks with 1 well placed shot from my trusty old 300 savage.
While it may not go into B/C Wades excitement and ear to ear smile will never be topped!
Wade says he can't wait for Elk season. Hope the luck holds! |
