Should average folks be funding “free” community college for rich families?

(Forbes) It turns out, “progressive” policies aren’t always that progressive. That is the conclusion of a recent state report on Oregon’s new free community college program, which is currently in the middle of its first year of implementation. While free community college is often sold as a way to give students from lower-income backgrounds access to higher education, over 60% of spending on the program, dubbed Oregon Promise, flowed to students from upper middle class and rich families.
